AF D4 – 1:14 Scale Remote-Controlled Bulldozer (3D Printable Model)
This detailed RC model is inspired by the iconic CAT D4 bulldozer and designed specifically for 3D printing enthusiasts and RC hobbyists. Featuring full remote-control functionality – from tracked drive to moving blade – it’s both a challenging and rewarding build.
Optimized for FDM 3D printers with a 0.4 mm nozzle, most parts print support-free. The model is organized into clear assembly sections for easy navigation, and the files include a calibration STL to help ensure a perfect fit.

Before you start
Printer Calibration
- Before starting the print, make sure your printer is properly calibrated.
- In the ZIP package, you will find a file named test_part.stl – place a MR128ZZ bearing into it.
- The bearing should fit with a slight resistance. If it does, your printer is well-calibrated.
Print Settings
- This project is designed for FDM printers with a 0.4 mm nozzle.
-
Filament: PLA, PETG
-
Layer height: 0.2 mm
- Infill: minimum 30% (any pattern is fine).
- Wall count: at least 3 walls (feel free to increase if needed).
- Most parts can be printed without supports.
- Files that require supports are labeled, e.g., BL001_addsup.stl – you can generate supports in your slicer.
- Alternatively, you can use pre-supported versions of the files – labeled as BL001_presup.stl.
Print Quantity
- The instruction includes information on how many pieces of each part to print.
- Files that need to be printed multiple times include a multiplier in the file name, e.g., C004_x2.stl – print 2 pieces of this part.
File Categories
- The files are grouped into 5 sections based on their placement in the model: Base section, Engine section, Blade section, Cabin section, Tracks section
- Each part in the ZIP archive has a unique identifier, which corresponds with those mentioned in the instructions.
Assembly Notes
- Some parts need to be glued together.
- Use CA glue (cyanoacrylate) or any universal adhesive – parts requiring glue are clearly marked in the instructions.
I wish you tons of fun during the build – and even more once the model is complete!
